I am saddened by the passing of one of my favorite authors, Robert Jordan. He is the author of the best selling fantasy novel The Wheel of Time. After publishing 11 voluminous books for the series, it remains unfinished.
Although it was reported that he left sufficient materials for another writer to conclude the series, I seriously doubt that his writing style, wit and humor can be replicated. (Read the Dune series and compare the writings of Frank and Brian Herbert you'll know what I mean.)
